Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford has been an American actress, dancer and performer since the beginning of the 1990s. Her early performances on Broadway include in the productions Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. In You Can't Take It With You in which she was awarded the Tony Award as Best Featured actress in the Play. Annaleigh has worked on projects with award-winning directors, actors and producers throughout her career. Ashford next will star opposite Kumail in Robert Siegel's exclusive Hulu program Welcome to Chippendales which premieres November 22. Ashford currently works in Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust alongside Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch-Bachrach. This film is part of a Hulu Original and will be streamed on Disney DTC. The film will premiere in March 2023. Ashford will return to Broadway and will be starring alongside Josh Groban in the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), the same duo who brought us Hamilton directed the musical. Ashford was Paula Jones, the main actor in Ryan Murphy's upcoming FX series American Crime Story Impeachment. The show is based on the scandal that brought Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp along with other key characters in the first impeachment proceeding in America in over a century. The two-season run she had on the CBS comedy B Positive was her first big role. The show was written by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. It also featured Ben Vereen and Hector Elizondo. Additional Broadway performances are Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and her first role as Lauren In Kinky Boots a performance for which she also received a Tony Award nomination. Ashford has been born in Denver, now spends time in Los Angeles and New York.
