Jenna Fischer was best known for her role as Pam Beesly (the character of The Office) on television. This role has earned her an Emmy nod for the best supporting Actress category. She also won two SAG Awards, both for exceptional performances in an ensemble comedy.
Her mother, Anne performed in church plays when she was young, which instilled a love of theater and performance in Jenna. Jenna was attracted by her mother's church performances as she began her career.
An actress trained in theater, Fischer returned to her roots after wrapping The Office. The Off-Broadway production Reasons for Being Happy was written and directed by Neil LaBute, with Josh Hamilton, Leslie Bibb and Fred Weller. Following her appearance in Steve Martin's most recent play Meteor Shower (an absurdist comedy with Greg Germann & Josh Stamberg), she performed in at the Old Globe Theatre's record-breaking world premiere.
The Office co-star Angela Kinsey and Fischer have launched Office Ladies, a podcast hosted by Earwolf on October 19, 2019. The podcast has proven to be a huge success, reaching in the Top Ten worldwide every week, and receiving more than 200 million downloads within the first two years. Office Ladies was awarded the iHeart Radio Podcast of the year award in January 2021.
She's also the author of The Actor's Life The Actor's Life: A Survival Guide (coauthored by Angela Kinsey) The book tells her tale of relocating to St. Louis to Hollywood as a professional actress is narrated.
